I thought today would be a good day to post our new tune, “I Don’t Mind”
In this particular instance, the song is about Taylor but it can really be about anyone you love.
Making this release even more special is the fact that two of my favorite musicians took part in it: Shane Butler of Quilt, AKA “our band” as a couple, and James Petralli of White Denim, whose music inadvertently caused me to move to Austin. About a week ago, they both providentially asked me if I needed artwork or help mixing one of my songs.
I’m almost tempted to say something about how the stars lined up for our love. Yet, I likely won’t.
Maybe this song will get my point across.
Happy Valentine’s Day,
Daniel
lyrics
Lyrics:
Watch me as I try to fit in on your time
But there could be nights when I'll have to fend for my own kind
I don't know to fight for things I don't have a use for
But this couldn't stand in between me and my home town
Still I don't want to go
Oooooh
Only one that's known a bit more than I'm used to
Nothing can change that but I can and I don't like it
Yet, I likely won't
Love like this is stone
I don't mind, I don't
Being bored with you
I don't mind I don't
Being alone with you
And in the end, that'll matter more than a million more friends
I don't mind, I don't
Wasting time on you
I don't mind, I don't
Staying home with you
And in the end that'll matter more than a million more friends
And in the end you will matter more than our bulk of half-friends
